And she cradled the light to her, stood upon her wild tree of flight and dreams. Inspiration danced about her, thoughts and ideas in rest gently illuminating the budding fruts of her tree. For here, in the place beyond all others, she waits, her eyes closed against the harshness of her own world, enveloped in the alluring everness of a violet haze. Here alone she felt at peace. Here alone she could be herself. Here alone, she felt free.

Finally, one of my commissions finished! This took much longer than it should have, but I really enjoyed painting it. The brief was to produce something in a similar style to that of the astoundingly talented Stephanie Pui Mun Law: whose gallery can be found here: . I recommend checking out her personal website too, the tutorial found on it was one of the best I've ever come across.

The colours aren't what I would usually work in, I'm not a florally pink and purple person, and painting in soft subtle shades nearly killed me. But the final result was worth it. And then, as usual, the bloody scanner massacred it. Why, oh why, scanner, do you hate watercolour so?
