This piece has been sat on my machine for so long now it's not funny. Originally done for the CGTalk Master & Servant challenge, I'd intended to eventually go over and finish it since my painting style and understanding of things has changed so much, but I know now that's not goiing to happen any time soon. So heck, I thought I'd at least upload it, then eventually I'll get round to amending it if and when I do change it.
The woman is a blind seeress, and relies on the cat to guide her, as well as the demon who controls her. I'd always intended the piece to be somewhat ambiguous as to who is in control, since though he rules her, she provides the visions and warnings that make him strong.
So enjoy. To date, the only full piece I've ever done in Painter, a mixture of Classic and 8, and I've no idea how on earth I did it. I don't have access to the full files right now, but I'll probably update a bigger version once I do.
The various materials are all rendered so distinctly and stunningly. The translucent effect on the ice horns is particularly impressive. Added to strong lighting and compositional choices, this is a great piece!
I seriously love the way you rendered the demon's horns. It'd be cool if you ever go back and finish/update it, though I think it functions strongly as-is.
