With bright light you are surrounded, yet by earthly bonds you make your stand. You are both flesh and spirit entwined, inseperable.

This piece is quite personal to me being a slow burning return to artistic desires which have been lacking outside of work for a time long enough to make me start worrying. Done with a number of people in mind, and heaped in various symbolism which I won't bore you with here. The original will be a gift for my parents, though I've a couple of people I'd like to make gifts of a print to too.

But right here at dA, I wanted to dedicate this piece to Coty, aka ~faerywitch I would imagine she might find this something of a surprise, but I'd been meaning to do something of this nature for a while. I know some special people, all of whom are deserving in their own way of a dedication, but Coty's influence I feel goes beyond just what light and warmth she has extended to me personally. Some people just have an aura about them, are just here in this earthly life to bring joy and good to others. I can't explain why I feel this, I just do, it's a gut instinct. Whatever it is, I thought of her more than once while doing this piece, and her involvement with me made it's way into the art, so I thought it apt to mention her here. Just a little thanks for everything you do.

Obviously influenced by the genius of Mucha. Whose style, I have concluded, is impossible for me to replicate. Watercolour, coloured pencil, sepia and gold inks. Though the gold's reflectiveness hasn't shown here, most of the darker bits of jewellry are sparkly in real life. Which is purdy. Final size is about 11 x 9 ish? Will upload a print version of it eventually, once I'm back at my machine.
