You will find her in the forests, in those magical moments where the real meets the unreal, where lights dance and nature sings with all her heart. You will find her standing, smiling in the face of all the world throws at her, delicate strength and inner beauty radiating from her as if she were the cradle of life itself. She is joy, she is happiness, she is heart, she is love.

Another commission, this time commissioned by the same person who commissioned "Peace and Inspiration" [link] - this is her daughter, Scarlet, as a fairy. It was something of a challenge to work in those pastelly colours again and in a different media too. I've kept some elements like the glowy pod tree and a stronger red presence, and I am pleased with how the lighting on the wings has worked, getting glow with pencils is tougher than in watercolour!

Done in Karisma pencils (which they no longer make!! *sob*) on beige-grey card, 9" x 12", and took somewhere in the region of 20-25 hours.

Oh, very pretty. The white on beige does very nicely to give the glow effect! And the transition of colors on the pod tree is wonderful.
