FLESH. I must render it MOAR.

This piece is driving me batty. I lost a good 5 hours work through a careless brush stroke since the last wip, and I've spent almost 3 times that trying to get back to where I had it. And most of that is smoothing flesh tones, and I'm still not convinced it's as good as it was. Border is currently a place holder... may or may not tweak or change it.

Probably not gonna finish this for the contest deadline, but I'll have a better piece for it!

interesting. This one is looking more muted and darker than I thought the colors would be when I saw the sketch. I think the color and texture on the gold is going to be amazing. I kind of wish his face markings were darker black instead of brown to set them off more perhaps. the eyes are gorgeous. I am looking forward to seeing this one finnished.

Thanks! The brush is mostly one I got from Whit brachna's download over at massiveblack's download store (through conceptart.org) - it's a really nice natural brush stroke that can be used large for soft textured edges or smaller to blend stuff without getting a really plastic-looking digital look to it too.

Sounds awesome. I need to experiment with brushes more. Would love to find a tool to help with that natural real media look. :heart:
