As if I didn't know that you were the zephyri I recently complimented on this exact piece over on CA, when I saw this on my watchlist I actually squealed a little bit lol Needless to say, I love the finished piece; that headdress is just WOW and her dress is gorgeous and she has such a pretty face! I'm very much pleased you uploaded this to your DA so I can fave the heck out of it!
I love this old myth--and how they tricked her into realizing she was beautiful. You've captured her beauty very well, I think--I love her look of stunned unsettlement. Good colors, too.

Lovely depiction, Sam. Years ago I did a very clumsy drwing about Amaterasu and Usume (the shamaness that plots how to bring her out) and I've always wanted to recreate it again, when my skills are good enough. You did such a beautiful work, she looks so inocent and surprised, and the umbrella as the sun is a wonderful idea.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
